Amazon Website Analysis

For this project, I analyzed the existing user issues on the Amazon website. The analysis I conducted aims to identify and offer solutions to various issues found during user research. Once I finished researching, I created possible solutions to the user issues that were found.

The Process

To start this project, I had to choose what website I wanted to analyze. I chose to analyze Amazon’s website. I outlined the site’s current design, business and marketing requirements, and competitive analysis.

I then created three different personas to show the different types of users that use the Amazon website. I also included a user scenario for each of the personas to show how the personas would actually use and interact with the website.

I then created an interview design to find out more information from the users regarding how they interact with the website and why they use the website.

I then created a survey design as a way to gain more demographical information about the users.

I then created a diary study to allow users to give direct feedback on how they interact with the website and how well it works for them.

I then created a card sort to test and see how users think the content of the website should be organized.

I then conducted a heuristic evaluation to see how the website is currently functioning and any areas that can be improved.

The next step was to conduct usability testing. This is where I was able to watch different users complete specific tasks and hear their thought processes while they went through each task.
